PMM Files #51 - Rockin Copy, Founder Led Storytelling, and The Power of Being Clear

Read Time: 3.4 minutes

Thanks for reading PMM Files. A newsletter where we share five cool product marketing examples we found last week.

Let's get to it...

Presented by Ready For Launch β€” the PMM's Guide to Product Launches

Example #1 - Rockin' Hero Copy

Ever stumble upon awesome hero copy and think… β€œRock on!”

That’s exactly how I felt when I found JKBX’s (Jukebox Technology) website.

JKBX lets you buy shares in the royalties of your favorite songs.

It might sound complex, but they explain it amazingly well and show how music royalties could benefit your portfolio.

This is definitely a hit.

Example #2 - The Power of Being Clear

Clear language and visuals.

That’s what I love about this section from one of Equals’ product pages.

Their main message β€” β€œIf you can spreadsheet, now you can dashboard.”

Simple words to explain how easy they make building a dashboard.

Followed by β€œHere are a few dashboards we designed earlier.”

A clever use of language that makes it seem as if they whipped up these dashboards in a few minutes earlier that day.

Finally, they have a slick carousel showing images of practical dashboard examples.

Bonus points for making it feel like Apple’s iconic β€œCover Flow” from iTunes 7.

Example #3 - Founder-Led Storytelling

Product-specific, Founder-led storytelling is gaining traction, especially on LinkedIn.

There’s something really authentic about a Founder getting their hands dirty and posting about specific, real-world customer problems.

When done right, it reinforces product positioning and unique value organically.

I’m loving this trend and hope to see it continue.

Example #4 - ICYMI

When you’re company is rapidly shipping new features, it can be hard for customers, even your own employees, to keep up.

That’s why I love this page from Notion.

β€œEvery Notion product update from 2023”

A visual collection of 90 product updates they shipped in 2023.

In a market where constant innovation and improvements is a competitive advantage.

This is great proof.

Not to mention, a great use of their own product.

Example #5 - Have You Met Devin?

We’re edging closer to singularity with Devin, the world’s first AI Software Engineer.

Putting aside how scary this software is, Devin’s launch video does an amazing job showing exactly how it works in context of specific use cases, so you can see how remarkable it is.

I’ve noticed this trend with launch videos. Narrative driven, use case focused.

The β€œlow fi” launch page is also great. Simple, focused on the product and use cases. No glitz or flashy graphics.

To put a cherry on top, getting access to Devin seems as simple as filling out a Google form!
